Funding Priorities:
Priority is given to projects that:

  • Are innovative, creative or pioneering;
  • Offer meaningful discourse between project partners and their targeted audience;
  • Confirm comprehensive planning including public outreach;
  • Enhance Haverhill’s Creative Economy;
  • Provide joy and reflection to the citizens of Haverhill.

Funding Requirements:
The Haverhill Cultural Council requires all of the following for an application to be complete.

  • Projects must have a Haverhill sponsor and/or substantial community support demonstrated by letters accompanying proposals.
  • Projects must be presented or realized in Haverhill and demonstrate tangible benefits to Haverhill citizens.
  • Projects should not be solely dependant on council funding, and should include information on other funding sources being sought or obtained.
  • Applications must include resumes of key participants including artists or other project providers, organizational staff, and any partner who will help realize the project.

FY11 applications must be postmarked by October 15, 2010 and include 10 copies of the application form and 1 set of supplemental materials.

Interested in supporting the arts, culture and interpretive sciences in Haverhill?   The Cultural Council is seeking qualified Haverhill residents who are interested in making a difference in their community, have experience fundraising or coordinating projects, and have the ability to volunteer at least 2 hours per week to advance the arts and culture in Haverhill. 

Interested candidates should send a letter of intent and current resume to the Cultural Council at the address shown above.  Volunteer members are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Haverhill, and serve a three-year term. No member shall serve more than two consecutive terms without taking a leave from the council for one year after the second term. Officers are voted in by the council members.
